In the twelfth century, King Louis VII gave the land to Grandmountains monks. After clearing the land, they settled there and built the Priory Monscient-Fontaine.
Le Prieure History

In the sixteenth century, the monks could not support the occupation any further and so the Priory was abandoned and the land was leased out. The situation remained until the land was adapted for the recreational sport of golf by the local farmers.

Le Prieure HistoryThe sports association was created in 1963, and the club moved into renovated buildings, while the surrounding fields are remodeled by Fred Hawtree to equip the club with two very beautiful courses, right from the outset.

Le Prieure then became very quickly one of the biggest and most highly regarded clubs in the Paris region, both through the quality of its course, as a results of its staff, and through its ability to reveal young talents.
