The Amateur Golf World Cup has now finally been brought to Ireland for 2017 with two Irish representatives to proceed on to Spain, all expenses paid, to represent Ireland at the World Final.
The 2017 World Finals will be held at the prestigious Novo Sancti Petri GC, in Cadiz, Spain, from the 12th to the 17th of November, a course designed by the one and only Seve Ballesteros. All guests will be accommodated in a luxurious 5-Star Resort to have an amazing experience and enjoy the charm of “Costa Del Luz”.
Six Irish open qualifying competitions will be held at different top 100 championship golf courses around Ireland (North & South). The first and second placed teams from each qualifying event will then play in the Irish Final at Slieve Russell Golf & Country Club on Friday the 22nd of September 2017. A €50 competition fee applies for a team of two, with special green fees for non-host club members. There will also be over €1,000 worth of very interesting golfing prizes at each qualifying competition for a lucky few.
To register for a qualifying event, please click on ‘Events’ link at the top of the LGCI website and choose the relevant qualifier under the ‘Competitions’ list. Then complete the online form to register both your own and your playing partner’s details, mainly full names, handicaps and home clubs. Registration is also possible directly at each of the qualifier host clubs (see above).
Le Grand Club Ireland will be there to ensure all qualifying events are held fairly, in good spirits, and hopefully with some great Irish weather too. Time to get practicing. May the best team win.
